Chow Kit is actually a place name and located in the Kuala Lumpur city center Malaysia. Chow Kit is popular in Kuala Lumpur because here you can buy lots of cheap stuff like used garments and fresh vegetables or grocery products.

If you the first timer here, you may think that the main road you see there is Chow Kit Road but the road is actually Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.

In Chow Kit you can find the hotel like Cititel Express for your stay and Chow Kit is accessible from Bukit Bintang by using the monorail system.

You can also easily find the cheap garment sellers at the roadside of Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Many supermarkets cannot stay long in business here due to the fierce price competition with the small shops around here. So that’s why you can see Mydin Store is still there because they apply the wholesale price of their products.

In Malaysia you will notice there are many night markets here. So no wonder you too can find one in Kuala Lumpur. Usually the night market starts at around 6 pm to 11 pm and sells lots of Malaysia delicacies as well as household products.

Night market is locally known as ‘Pasar Malam’ and very popular among Malaysians especially those who want buy fresh chicken, vegetables etc.

What I love about Pasar Malam is I can buy and enjoy my favourite food like Apam Balik and Murtabak. If you are non-Malaysian and never been here you may wonder what are the food I mentioned just now. The first picture above is the image of Pasar Malam held each and every Saturday night in Taman Setapak Jaya, Kuala Lumpur.

What I can tell you about apam balik is; it is just a sweet pancake with the corn, coarse grounded peanuts and sugar inside it. When I go to Pasar Malam, usually I buy one because I don’t want to miss the delicious and sweet taste and this Apam Balik costs RM2.

Another thing I like is Murtabak that is similar to Roti Canai ( type of pancake) but this is one normally has meat or chicken curry mix with egg as the filling. You can find the spicy one or with the sweet taste.

Don’t forget to pay a visit to one of the night markets or Pasar Malam in this country when you visit Malaysia and I bet you will arrive in Kuala Lumpur soon.
