Pangkor Island in Perak or locally known as Pulau Pangkor is among the popular islands in Malaysia. The island has a few beaches that attract lots of tourists here.
If you want to to go to the Pangkor Island, one of the methods you can use is by using the express bus to Lumut (the nearest town to Pangkor Island which also act as the gateway to the island) which the fare will cost you around RM 25.
As of this writing, Puduraya is still under renovation and you need to go to the temporary bus station near Bukit Jalil National Stadium to buy the bus ticket to Lumut.
From Lumut, you need to board the ferry and there are 2 companies that operate the ferry service there; Mesra and Pan Silver. The ferry fare is Rm 10 and the ticket is actually two-way ticket which you can reuse to go back to Lumut town from Pangkor Island anytime you want.

If you haven’t booked the chalet or hotel room yet upon arriving Lumut, you can find the travel agent in the town and you’ll notice there are many of them willing to help you. Just be selective as you can always find the cheaper (or reasonable) rate one for your accommodation.
Where to Stay in Pangkor Island
Pangkor Island offers many accommodation for you to stay there. You can get a comfortable room ( air-conditioned) at the resort for around RM100 per night depending on the day of your arrival; weekdays or weekends.
For example, in Teluk Nipah which is also the attraction on the island because of its beautiful beach got many chalets or resorts for you to choose from. Among them are Waterfront Beach Resort, Hornbill Beach Resort etc.

When you arrive at Pangkor Town by ferry, you will see the taxis near the jetty waiting for passengers. To Teluk Nipah, the taxi fare costs you RM 12.
Just to inform you that the taxis on the island are vans not cars.
Pangkor Island is a great island for tourists though not as popular as Langkawi, it still has its own unique attractions.
