A taxi is important to you in Kuala Lumpur especially if you do not rent or have a car when you temporarily stay here at any hotels or accommodation.
If you are not a Malaysian who just arrived here as a tourist and need to go for shopping or just to take a ride through this KL city, a taxi could be one of your mode of transportation.
Usually the taxis here are red coloured or precisely maroon. Sometimes you may notice that they are also come in yellow.

If you see the taxi plate number starts with HW, that means it was registered in Kuala Lumpur (Federal Territory) while those taxis having their plate numbers start with HB means that they were registered in Selangor.

How much you need to pay for the taxi fare in Kuala Lumpur? Normally you need to pay the taxi fare based on the meter installed in that taxi. Remember once you’ve got yourself into the taxi, the meter shows the default RM3.00 and starts counting till you reach your destination. However I’m not sure about the Limo regarding how they charge the passengers.
Make sure the taxi driver charge you based on the figures shown on the meter assuming the meter is not a modified one.
If you find yourself a bit hard to get a taxi, you can use call-a-cab service to get one and you should bear in mind to pay a bit extra fare for this.
