Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and textile products

When we talk about this street of Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman which is in downtown Kuala Lumpur, probably the first thing that comes to people’s mind is Chow Kit or the famous Merdeka Square.
Yes.. Chow Kit area is located at the both sides of this long street.

Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman not far from Little India
There is also a big mistake if you think the name of this street came from the Malaysian first prime minister.
In fact, Tuanku Abdul Rahman is the name of the first Yang Di-Pertuan Agong (His Highness or King) of Malaysia.
We Malaysians see the picture of Tuanku Abdul Rahman everyday which is printed on the Malaysian currency notes.
However there is another area near Little India (or Jalan Masjid India) that you can find many textile outlets to buy the products ranging from ordinary to silk ones.

Nagoya, one of the textile outlets at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman
To name a few, the outlets you can find for this purpose are Nagoya Textile, The Jakel and Gulatis which are popular among the shoppers. From my personal observation, I found there are 2 Nagoya outlets which are located not far by each other.
Normally this place will be crowded when the festive seasons are around the corner like Deepavali and Hari Raya where people flock here to get the best and quality at promotional prices.
For your info too, Sogo KL is also not far from this street and located near Bandaraya LRT Station but just as reminder as I told you this street is a bit long.
