Puduraya  (or Hentian Puduraya) which has been operating as the bus terminal in Kuala Lumpur since 1976  is now renamed as Pudu Sentral by the Prime Minister  of Malaysia Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak.

However till now the building still uses the name Puduraya and not sure when it’ll be officially changed to the name Pudu Sentral. To play safe you can simply think that Puduraya is Pudu Sentral and vice versa.

As the name Puduraya has been used for a very long time and the bulk of reference guides  related to Kuala Lumpur (especially outside Malaysia)  uses the name Puduraya to mention this bus terminal..there maybe confusion to the tourists.

Pudu Sentral - You can still see the name Puduraya ;-)

This bus terminal is really different compared before the renovations took place. Pudu Sentral is really a modern facility now and serves for the bus passengers who want to go to Northern destinations like Alor Setar, Ipoh, Butterworth, Penang  and also to the Kuantan, Genting Highlands in Pahang.

However if your destination is located in Southern areas like Johor Bahru you need to go to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS)  – also known as South Integrated Transport Terminal located at Bandar Tasik Selatan for buying the tickets and board the bus.

To go to TBS by LRT you can take the LRT train ( Sri Petaling Line) at Plaza Rakyat LRT Station (located around 5 minutes walking from Pudu Sentral) and drop by Bandar Tasik Selatan LRT Station. From there TBS is not far away.

Though it bears the name Kuala Lumpur in its name, the Kuala Lumpur International Airport or KLIA is located in the district of Sepang, Selangor which outside Kuala Lumpur area.

KLIA is the modern airport and serves as a gateway to Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur. From KLIA, it takes around 1 hour (and the distance roughly 65 km by road) to reach KL Sentral Station by driving a car but this time can be reduced to just half an hour if you use the KLA Express train.
