Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve or locally known as Hutan Simpan Bukit Nanas is the only remaining original tropical rainforest in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city.

However, this name is now officially called Taman Eko Rimba KL (Literally Kuala Lumpur Eco-forest Park). This place serves as the recreational forest for the surrounding area.

This forest reserve is located in front of Jalan Raja Chulan and not far from Telekom Museum. The nearest LRT Station is Masjid Jamek LRT Station.

Why do you want to visit Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve or this eco-forest park? First you’ll learn the names of the trees which are usually found only in the forest, the herbs and their usage.

Among the trees there are Jelutong, Meranti, Batai, Pulai, Rambutan Pachat etc.

At Herbs Park, you can see the Kacip Fatimah, Mas Cotek, Tapak Sulaiman ans many more with info on their medical usage.

Upon your arrival at the Forest Information CentreĀ  there, you get the brochures about this eco-forest park with the useful info in it.

The admission to this park is free but if you plan for camping here, you need to pay.

You don’t have to really worry about struggling to walk in the forest here as the trails are provided for your easier and fast movement on the forest floor.

This park is open to visitors from 8 am till 6 pm ( Monday to Sunday) but the Forest Information Centre or office is open from 9 am to 5 pm ( also Monday to Sunday).
