In my post about Rapid KL on July 11 2009, I wrote that you can reuse the ticket you buy for the rest of the day as long as you board the Rapid KL buses that have same initial letter on it.
However due to the Malaysia government decision to allow the increase in the fare on 17th of July, you cannot get that priviledge anymore as you need to buy the new ticket every time you board the bus.
According to Rapid KL CEO, Suffian Baharuddin, after taking into consideration the factors such as the costly maintenance, Rapid KL has to stop the daily ticket system that has been used since 2006.
Although that system will be forfeited, the users can still enjoy the discount fares when they buy the monthly passes at low prices to reduce their burden.
The monthly pass gives up to 50% of saving if compared to when you buy the ticket every time you use the bus.
Starting this September, “Touch n Go” also will be halted and can only be used once the restructuring of that system has been done. Read more on Rapid KL introduces new fares…

Malaysians use sugar very much in their daily life. They use it to make their favourite drinks, cakes etc. As a Malaysian, I like sugar too because my favourite Teh Tarik is nothing without sugar.
Sugar is made from the sugar cane which the raw one is sweet too. Recently the sugar stock is very limited and I don’t know what’s actually happening. Now is the fasting month and the Muslims are getting ready to make the cakes or cookies for Hari Raya Puasa especially a week before that great day and of course they need to use lots of sugar.
Kuala Lumpur too is not free from this sugar shortage. It is quite difficult to get and buy even 1 pack of sugar (1 kg) at any supermarkets I went recently. I ended up buying refined sugar and luckily the price is just RM0.10 more than the usual coarse sugar per kg.

Only 3 packs of sugar for one family
The pictures above shows that the sugar supply is very limited and only one shelf has that commodity meaning it’s running out soon. You can see the price is RM1.45 for 1 kg of coarse sugar. Read more on Sugar shortage 2009 in Malaysia…
